Alexa Fluor® Dyes - Simply the Best & Brightest Fluorescent Dyes & Conjugates
The Alexa Fluor dyes a series of superior fluorescent dyes that span the near-UV, visible and near-IR spectrum (see Table 1) represent a major breakthrough in the development of fluorescent labeling reagents. These dyes, without exception, produce the best and brightest conjugates we have ever tested. Dyes ranging from the blue to the far red provide many options for multicolor detection and fl uorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET). Tandem conjugates of the Alexa Fluor dyes with R-phycoerythrin or allophycocyanin further expand the utility of the Alexa Fluor dyes in multicolor applications. Benefits of the Alexa Fluor dyes and their conjugates include the following:

- photostability
- instrument compatibility
- color selection
- water solubility
- pH insensitivity

Reduce Photobleaching for Optimal Imaging
ProLong and ProLong Gold antifade reagents provide maximum protection from photobleaching, giving you more time to capture your image and gather critical fuorescence data.
Ready-to-Use Antifade Protection
Loss of fuorescence through irreversible photobleaching can lead to a signifcant reduction in sensitivity, particularly when target molecules are of low abundance or when excitation light is of high intensity or long duration. ProLong Gold antifade reagent is a new and improved version of the very effective ProLong antifade reagent. ProLong Gold antifade reagent is premixed and ready to use—just add a drop to your preparation and mount. ProLong Gold reagent outperforms all other commer-cially available antifade reagents and causes little or no quenching of the fuorescence sig-nal (Figure 1). As with our original ProLong antifade reagent, ProLong Gold reagent will cure within 24 hours, and the sample can be saved for months after mounting. ProLong Gold reagent offers excellent compatibility with a multitude of dyes and dye complexes, making it an especially valuable tool for multicolor applications.
Packaged for Convenience
As an added convenience, we also offer ProLong Gold antifade reagent with DAPI. The addition of the popular nuclear and chromosome stain DAPI, which exhibits blue fluorescence upon binding to DNA, elimi-nates the need for a separate counterstaining step. Both ProLong Gold antifade reagent and ProLong Gold antifade reagent with DAPI are available packaged in single 10 mL bottles or in five 2 mL bottles. Another alternative is our original antifade product, the ProLong Antifade Kit, which provides antifade reagent that can be prepared by reconstituting the antifade reagent powder in the supplied mounting medium.
