GeneTrans Gene Delivery Reagents |
|
|
|
| |
Features and Advantages:
- High transfection efficiencies in multiple cell lines
- Good results with many hard-to-transfect cell lines
- Very cost-effective and easy-to-use
- Best efficiency with Jurkat cells
- Ideal for oligonucleotide transfection
General Product Description
GeneTrans Transfection Reagents have been developed for highly efficient transfection of a broad variety of cell types. They enable good transfection efficiencies also with many known hard-to-transfect cell lines (for maximal transfection efficiencies with hard-to-transfect cells, we recommend GeneTrans II).
GeneTrans Transfection Reagents utilize the unique Direct Hydrophilic Conjugation (DHC) technology developed by the inventor of lipofection. In contrast to other commercially available transfection reagents, GeneTrans contains an ideally adjusted mixture of differentially modified cationic lipids. It optimizes the assembly of lipid/DNA complexes and significantly reduces cytotoxicity. This ensures highly efficient and reproducible results with both stable and transient transfections. Moreover, the strongly reduced cell damage and the elimination of media changes make GeneTrans Transfection Reagents ideal for all gene expression studies where both optimal gene delivery and the post-transfection state of the cells are important. In addition, they have proven to be perfect for oligonucleotide transfection and for transfecting special cell lines such as Jurkat cells.

GeneTrans I Transfection Reagent
GeneTrans I Transfection Reagent has been designed to accomplish a high and consistent delivery of DNA into a broad range of cell types. It is very easy to use and performs well in wide-ranging conditions. In addition, GeneTrans I Transfection Reagent does not require enhancers or special handling of cells as it is known for other commonly used transfection reagents. It saves time, cost and reagents, and is suitable for both in vitro and in vivo transfection studies. GeneTrans I Transfection Reagent is a unique formulation of the neutral lipid dioleoyl phosphatidylethanolamine (DOPE) and a proprietary cationic lipid that is derived from the innovative Direct Hydrophilic Conjugation (DHC) technology. A small volume (5 µl) of GeneTrans I reagent can be used for efficiently transfecting 1 µg of DNA. GeneTrans I reagent is provided in a dry form which is stable at 4°C for at least 1 year; the hydrated reagent is stable for a minimum of 6 months at 4°C. |

GeneTrans II Transfection Reagent
Features and Advantages
- Optimized transfection efficiency
- Greatly improved results with hard-to-transfect cells
- Ideally suited for oligonucleotide transfection
- No media changes - transfections can be easily carried out with or without serum
- Robust reproducible results with cell lines used for protein expression
- Adaptable to both suspension and adherent cells
- Minimized cytotoxicity
- Suitable for both in vitro and in vivo transfection
- Excellent and reproducible performance with many different cell lines
Product Description
The GeneTrans II Transfection Reagent is the newest advance in gene delivery technology and based on a novel clearly improved formulation that allows a further enhancement of DNA stability and reduction of interference from serum components during the transfection process. Its ability first to stabilize and protect DNA more effectively and second, to facilitate its nuclear uptake into cells renders GeneTrans II a highly effective delivery tool. Additionally, lipoplexes produced with the GeneTrans II formulation have lower interaction with serum components and are thereby in particular very suitable and effective for use in serum containing medium. It includes optimized components and buffers allowing superior transfection efficiencies also with notoriously hard-to-transfect cell lines such as HeLa, K-562, and PC-12. GeneTrans II is ideal for high-throughput screening and protein expression applications and offers clear advantages compared to other leading transfection reagents. GeneTrans II is provided with two diluents (DNA Diluent A and DNA Diluent B) to allow you more flexibility in optimizing nucleic acid transfections for your cell lines of choice. If you are working with easy-to-transfect cell lines in serum-free media, we recommend the original GeneTrans I transfection reagent as an ideal cost-effective alternative. It enables transfection results that are by all means comparable to any competitive reagent on the market.
GeneTrans II comes complete with everything you need for optimizing transfection conditions for your specific cell line(s), including the convenient GeneTrans II dried lipid films, hydration buffer (0.75 ml or 1.5 ml), and two types of DNA diluents (A and B: 4 ml or 8 ml).
For your convenience, a protocol with tested optimized transfection conditions for the most popularly used cell lines is included. By following the simple steps in this comprehensive manual, you can expect optimal transfection results. |

LowtoxicTrans Biodegradable Transfection Reagent |
|
| |
Features and Advantages:
- Biodegradable in vivo
- Dramatically reduced cytotoxicity
- Maximized delivery of macromolecules into cells
- Easy protocol
General Product Description
LowtoxicTrans is a convenient biodegradable cationic polymer that allows for simple same day, high efficiency, and low cost gene delivery in mammalian cell lines. During transfection, the polymer/DNA complexes (polyplexes) are endocytosed into the cells, where the polymer is biodegraded into small non-toxic molecules. The ability of LowtoxicTrans to biodegrade in vivo dramatically reduces its cytotoxicity while maximizing the delivery of macromolecules into cells. The protocol is easy! Simply plate your cell line in complete medium, and immediately add the DNA/LowtoxicTrans polyplexes without the need for overnight incubation. Assay for transgene expression 24 - 48 hours later. LowtoxicTrans is compatible with serum-containing medium, it is simple to use, and it provides high transfection efficiency at a low cost per reaction relative to other commercial transfection reagents.

GenePusher Reagent |
|
|
|
| |
Features
- Economical and easy to use
- Highest gene expression in diverse cell types
- Excellent enhancement with GeneTrans Transfection Reagent and GeneTrans II Transfection Reagent
- Very good improvement with other transfection reagents
- Effective for both transient and stable transfection
- Extended shelf life
Description
The Gene Pusher Reagents are a set of chemical cocktails to increase the gene expression level obtained with synthetic non-viral DNA delivery systems such as GeneTrans Transfection Reagent and GeneTrans II Transfection Reagent. They also can be used with all other commercially available transfection reagents. Three unique formulations have been developed for different cell types (Table 1). They are very easy to use: simply add the appropriate GenePusher Reagent to your culture medium 4 hours post-transfection. The level of gene expression can be enhanced by 2 to 12 fold (Table 3). On vial of GenePusher Reagent (1.5 ml), at a 100x concentration is sufficient for 150 transfections using 1 ml transfection volume.
The application of the GenePusher Reagent is cell type dependent. Indeed, some cells respond greatly to the GenePusher Reagent (see Table 1 and 3) whereas others are not responsive (Table 2).
