M13 Phage, His and GST Antibodies
|
Anti-g3p (pIII) Antibody
|
Features:
- antibody to phage M13 coat protein g3p (pIII)
- clone: 10C3
- monoclonal mouse IgG
|
|
The anti-g3p antibody is a useful analytical tool for current phage display systems using the g3-protein of M13 for display of recombinant proteins such as antibodies, protein- or peptide-libraries and more. (See also our pSKAN Phagemid Display System).
|
Applications:
The antibody can be used in Western blots in order to analyze:
- correct reading-frame fusions of g3p-fusion proteins
- expression levels of g3p-fusion proteins in E. coli and on the tip of the phage
- ratios of displayed g3p-proteins and g3p-fusion proteins on the phage-capsid
- M13-infected E. coli strains
The epitope is also recognized under non-denaturing conditions. Therefore, the antibody can be used for:
- ELISA detection of g3p-fusion proteins
- purification of g3p-fusion proteins by affinity chromatography
- efficient and rapid analysis of antigen binding characteristics of recombinant antibodies selected by phage display (microplate assay)
|
The Epitope:
The antigenic epitope of the anti-g3p antibody resides within amino acids 292 to 302 of the mature g3-protein and is therefore compatible with most of the phagemid vectors using different N-terminal deletions of the g3-protein.

Anti-hPSTI Antibody
|
|
Features:
- antibody to human pancreatic secretory trypsin inhibitor domain (hPSTI)
- recognizes native hPSTI (soluble as well as hPSTI in the pSKAN phagemid pIII-hPSTI fusion protein)
- monoclonal mouse IgG (clone R XXIII)
The anti-hPSTI antibody was specifically developed for our pSKAN Phagemid Display System, but can also be useful in other applications related to the human pancreatic secretory trypsin inhibitor (hPSTI).

| PAGE of pSKAN phages presenting different hPSTI-pIII fusion proteins followed by Western blot with anti-pIII (lane 1-5); M13K07 wild type phage as control (lane M13). Two bands are visible with pSKAN phages: one for pIII and one for the larger hybrid protein hPSTI-pIII. In M13 wild type phages only one band is detected resulting from pIII. |

Anti-His and Anti-GST Antibodies
|
Features:
- optimally suited for monitoring expression of His-tagged and GST-tagged fusion proteins
- useful for immunoaffinity purification of fusion proteins possessing a (His)6 or GST tag
- source: rabbit, polyclonal
- markedly increased sensitivity for (His)6 and GST tags
Vectors for expression of fusion proteins possessing a (His)6 tag or glutathione-S-transferase (GST) tag are commonly used for simple immunoaffinity purification of recombinant proteins produced in E. coli (e.g. by metal-chelate affinity chromatography). The MoBiTec anti-His-Tag and anti-GST-Tag antibodies are very useful in monitoring (His)6 -Tag and GST-Tag fusion protein expression and purification and show a markedly increased sensitivity for (His)6 tags and GST tags compared with other commercially available anti-His-Tag or anti-GST-Tag antibodies.
