M-Beads Magnetic silica beads STA |
| |
M-Beads Magnetic silica beads STA are magnetic silica beads coated with Streptavidin.
The beads can be used in numerous biological and biochemical applications based on the very strong Streptavidin-Biotin bonding. Silica beads coated with Streptavidin can be used to isolate biotinylated proteins or other biotinylated molecules out of different media. It's easy to bind a biotinylated antibody to the M-Bead STA to isolate a specific target protein out of a cell lysate.
Applications:
- Isolation of biotinylated target molecules
- Immunoassays
- Binding of biotinylated antibodies
- Isolation of bacterial cells
- Protein purification

M-Beads Magnetic silica beads protein A/protein G |
| |
M-Beads Magnetic silica beads protein A and/or G can be used to detect or isolate target proteins by coupling the Fc domain of an IgG antibody to a target protein. The advantage of these beads compared to streptavidin beads is that the antibody does not need to be biotinylated. So they are ideal for protein isolation and proteomics. |

M-Beads Magnetic silica beads DNA and M-Beads Magnetic silica beads DNA allround |
| |
For rapid isolation of DNA and for essential purification steps these kits can be used in the determination of gene expression or polymorphisms in metabolic or genetic hereditary diseases. The application of beads for isolating DNA from cells needs to wash-out bound DNA, which can be done by different principles.
Recent tests demonstrated that the M-Beads DNA can be used with buffers from other suppliers. |

M-Beads Magnetic silica beads DNA are specifically designed for nucleic acid isolation for rod type robotic systems.
M-Beads Magnetic silica beads DNA allround have high magnetic content optimized for nucleic acid isolation from various sources (blood, cells, bacteria etc.) for robotic and manual workflow.
M-Beads Magnetic silica beads DNA COOH are especially developed for nucleic acid isolation for rod type robotic systems. The carboxylated surface guarantees best results in terms of DNA purity and yield. They are recommended for high DNA yield applications like isolation of viral DNA, DNA sequencing or PCR clean up.
M-Beads Magnetic silica beads DNA allround COOH with their high magnetic content are optimal for high DNA yield applications for robotic and manual workflow. |

Different applications, interests and needs cannot be matched with one single method or with one single magnetic silica bead. High throughput applications supported by robotic liquid handling stations typically need magnetic beads with strong magnetic response whereas highly complex, manual DNA extraction applications need magnetic beads with highest DNA capture, DNA selectivity and lowest unspecific binding. The following tables will help you choosing the best solution for your needs.

M-Beads Magnetic silica beads for proteomics |
| |
M-Beads Magnetic silica beads C4, C8 and C18 are an ideal tool for the purification, concentration and desalting of peptides and protein digests. The surface of the beads has been modified with C4, C8 and C18 alkyl groups that are typical for reversed phase applications.
M-Beads Magnetic silica beads WCX (weak cation exchange) magnetic beads have the typical ion exchange properties well known from classical chromatography. Protein and peptides are charged at the surface and will be adsorbed to magnetic beads under low salt condition. Under high salt conditions or by pH shift the target proteins/peptides are eluted (ion exchanged). Due to the different binding/elution mechanisms the M-Beads Magnetic silica beads WCX are a powerful alternative to the M-Beads magnetic silica beads C4, C8 and C18
M-Beads Magnetic silica beads WAX (weak anion exchange) magnetic beads are the "counter" beads to the M-Beads WCX beads. Binding, washing and elution are also triggered by the protein/peptide total net charge. The M-Beads WAX beads are ideally suited when more acidic proteins/peptides are expected in the sample. However, our protocols given in the corresponding product sheet cover buffer systems for acidic, neutral and basic conditions.
M-Beads WCX are magnetic silica beads with a high magnetic content optimized for protein and peptide separation. Since the M-Beads WCX and M-Beads WAX act as counter-beads, MoBiTec recommends testing both types of beads, to see which suits best in your individual application.
