Product Description:
The miniaturized cell chamber for microscopy (MiniCeM™) consists of a round plastic fitting and a cover (with MiniCeM™ logo) as well as an exchangeable inner chamber. The actual volume of the inner chamber consists of a flexible silicon ring and two round cover slips each 170 µm thick. The two components of the chamber are connected by a bayonet fitting that enables a rapid change of the internal chamber set.

The flexible material of the inner chamber wall facilitates the exchange of gases and permits insertion of sterile medical needles.
The entire cell chamber is made of autoclaveable material. Due to its miniaturized dimensions, the cell chamber is suitable for both upright as well as inverted microscopes and can be used for transmission and reflection measurements, conventional, confocal and multi-photon fluorescence imaging, as well as optical micro-manipulations with laser tweezers. These can be accomplished because of the very thin cover slips (170 µm) with low autofluorescence and objectives with high numerical apertures for oil and water immersion.
It is possible to place the cell chamber on the microscope mounting plates intended for fixing Petri-dishes with a diameter of 65 mm. For efficient handling of numerous samples, special racks (MiniCeM™-Racks) for 5 or 10 cell chambers are also available. These can be used in the incubators or temperature controlled chambers.
Applications:
The cell chamber MiniCeM™ is designed for microscopical applications in the cell biology, biotechnology and medicine. In particular, spatial high-resolution observations of living cells are possible over an extended period of time. The MiniCeM™is perfectly suited for CLSM application an was tested with the following microscopes:
- Zeiss LSM 710, LSM 510
- Leica TCS SP2
- Nikon A1R-A1
- Olympus FV 1000, 500, 300
