| Description: | Streptococcus pyogenes causes mild superficial skin infections to life-threatening systemic diseases. Mild infections include pharyngitis and localized skin infection (impetigo). Erysipelas and cellulitis are characterized by multiplication and lateral spread of S. pyogenes in deep layers of the skin. Other toxigenic S. pyogenes infections may lead to life-threatening toxic shock syndrome. AmpliSens® Streptococcus pyogenes-screen/monitor-FRT PCR kit is an in vitro nucleic acid amplification test for quantitative detection of Streptococcus pyogenes DNA in the biological material (oropharyngeal swabs, whole blood, tissue (biopsy, surgical) material, synovial fluid, discharge of erosive and ulcerative lesions of the skin, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), urine) using real-time hybridization-fluorescence detection of amplified products. |
