| Description: | Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato - Lyme disease is caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi and is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected black-legged ticks. Typical symptoms include fever, headache, fatigue and a skin rash called erythema migrans. If left untreated, infection can spread to joints, heart and nervous system. Lyme disease diagnostics is based on symptoms, physical findings (e.g. rash) and the possibility of exposure to infected ticks. AmpliSens Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato-FRT PCR kit is an in vitro nucleic acid amplification test for qualitative detection of Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato (B. burgdorferi sensu stricto, B. afzelii, B. garinii) 16S rRNA in the biological material (ticks) by using real- time hybridization-fluorescence detection. |
