| Description: | Hepatitis D Virus - Hepatitis D is caused by a small circular enveloped RNA virus. HDV is considered to be a subviral satellite because it can propagate only in the presence of the HBV. Transmission of HDV can occur via simultaneous infection with HBV (coinfection) or superimposed on chronic hepatitis B or hepatitis B carrier state (superinfection). Both superinfection and coinfection with HDV results in more severe complications than with HBV alone. AmpliSens® HDV-Monitor-FRT PCR kit is an in vitro nucleic acid amplification test for quantitative detection of hepatitis D virus (HDV) RNA in biological materials (blood plasma) using real-time hybridization-fluorescence detection of amplified products. |
