| Description: | Proteinase K Assay. Proteinase K is broadly used to digest proteins in biological samples such as DNA or RNA preparations. The advantage of proteinase K is its activity under unconventional conditions such as inclusion of denaturing reagents urea, SDS or metal chelator EDTA. The Proteinase Assay is based on hydrolysis of a fluorescence-labeled protein and generates fluorescence emission at 535 nm (excitation 485 nm). It includes the 0.55 ml of 10 x assay buffer, 50 ul of 100 x proteinase K and 50 µl of 100 x substrate. |
