Caspase 6 cleaves the mutated huntintin protein and the amyloid precursor protein resulting in the aggregating protein fragments typical of Huntington"s and Alzheimer"s diseases respectively. Activity is quantified by the release of p-nitroaniline which is measured by absorbance at 405 nm. |
